    Labor of love.
Charger R/T the most serious of the bunch. The 1960 Impala with the rear wings would actually lift the rear up at high speed. o_O

Don't recognize the Ford. Maybe a SOC motor?
Can't beat the AC Cars Shelby.

Agree Hobnail, many hours of dedication. The two large Fords were Galaxies, and the odd one is an Aussie Ford Falcon XY/XT with 351 Cleveland. The AC Cobra was well built and a shame many had to be covered for the mild showers

Great photos and a fun show, @Dartplayer! Thanks for sharing. I'm not that up on cars but I am partial to that green Mustang.:) No idea why. ;)

Thanks @Sandi T. Mustangs dominated the show. There were Mk11, notch back, Mach 1, and an assortment of newer models all in great condition.
I was a fan of the Shelby’s especially the GT or KR500, which they have made a new release some years back.

That's cool, @Dartplayer! I've always liked Mustangs but knew little about them. My dad had a '67 convertible in candy apple red that he loved and "rehabbed" years ago. :) It was damaged a bit in a tornado that hit the farm and my hometown back in 1998. Though my brother would pull it out once or twice a year, it primarily sat in the garage for years collecting dust after my dad passed in 2002.

A few years back my younger brother sold the car which I think he now regrets. When my dad was still here, my little hometown had an annual summer celebration designed to raise money for the town's little four-bed hospital. That celebration included a parade and my Dad was always part of that parade carrying whoever was the celebrations "Queen". The Queen would perch on the back part of the car and do her "queen" type wave to the folks lining the whole three blocks of main street. :grinning::joy: Now both the car and the small town celebration are gone. :(

I'm currently reading this book which I am thoroughly enjoying. And I bought the white book to learn more about Mustangs and their history now that I am the happy and proud owner of one. :)

Well, after I tried all the Mustang years, the Pontiac and Oldsmobile Coupés... I am at a loss...
Did not find it. What car is it?

    Help please...

    Mercury Cougar.
    Perhaps 1967 or so.
A luxury version of the spartan Mustang.

Ah, thanks mate... Mercury was the only Company I did not think of! I googled all the others from 62 to 69.

That help is very much appreciated, Hobnail! :sun:

These photos really took me back, Whitianga is such a nice little town and the cars are pretty sweet too.

There's something about the styling from the late 50's to late 60's era that really sets it apart IMO. Things all got a bit lame from the 70's on and here we are with the jelly mold cars of today. As far as Yank "sports" cars go, the Corvette has never really pushed my buttons but an early fastback Mustang, yes please! With money no object it would have to be a 427SC Cobra, now well into seven figures for an original if you can find one for sale. A neighbour just up the road from us had a '59 Impala back in the 80's and it was a real crowd puller.

Had this Riviera (1976) back in 91 in Las Cruces... You can already see the influence of the 70s , but it is one of my all time favorite cars when looking back on the cars I owned!

But my dream would have been the 72 Boat-Tail

Thanks for this thread dart player, I really enjoyed it.
40's-60's American cars guzzle gas like it's going out of fashion. And sadly, shortly it will be.
But they ooze style like no modern vehicle could ever hope to.
