So, after a career with Ducati (and the odd Honda) our Foggy has come over all Triumphy.
Not seen any official announcements but our Carl has Tweeted that he's "proud to be associated with Triumph".

And has been prominent with Triumph at the Motorcycle Live Show and in the Christmas MCN.

Just wondering whether it had anything to do with Ducati recently blowing all their PR budget on Casey Stoner, and perhaps Foggy needing a new set of wheels to get down to his local chippy. ;)

I guess Triumph are thinking they might reach a few (as yet) non bikers via his "King of the Jungle" fame. Don't get me wrong, I was (still am?) a big Foggy fan when he was racing, his tantrums added drama to the series just as MM & VR are doing in MotoGP now. His riding was not too shabby either. :)

BUT I fail to see any credibility in this "association" when he is and has always been so closely associated with Ducati.

    Your thoughts?

Possibly to do with him winning that jungle thing.Makes him more marketable to the non biking public.
I see Charley Boorman was wearing a Triumph shirt,I thought he was staunch BMW.

Most "celebrity's" will smile for whoever is writing the cheque.

I guess you could equally argue it's no different to "normal" employer / employee relationships. I worked half my career for one company, the other half for two of its potential competitors.

Charley Boorman was announced (at least he did) as a Triumph Ambassador a while ago - he was on the Triumph stand at the NEC. Not sure the full story though.....but considering LWR was over 10 years ago now, he's been a BMW guy for a long time.

I have to say he is just a great ambassador for biking in general - nice to see him on the best now too! :0) He also made a statement re something coming TV Wise, not sure if that'll be linked to Triumph or not, but I would guess so.....especially if they've spent big bucks!

Nice to see Brits supporting/endorsing British manufacturing!

Wouldn't say no to being in his position!

I agree Dave, briefly met Charlie and seemed a genuinely nice guy. Seeing him pull wheelies on the GS in LWR and his more recent "adventures" is a hoot, and yes makes him an excellent ambassador, just the right balance of respectability and not. :)
I think his link to BMW (didn't he originally want a KTM for the LWR?) was never as strong as Foggies is to Ducati, hence my questioning the choice of Foggy. But hey, he's a whole lot more credible than Beckham!
With the retro scene gathering momentum Triumph should be one of the front runners as a "cool" brand, the celebs have noticed, lets hope the general public catch on too.

Indeed, he did want KTM.....and it's a new year now so I can watch it again (cue wanderlust)!

I agree in respect of Foggy, it helps with Boorman that he's not a racer so the ties aren't as strong (akin to the whole Rossi Ducati debarcle).

Could have been a lot worse, could have ended up with Lewis Hamilton like MV!
