Unable to "Upload a File"? I hit that button and nothing happens. My computer is working fine otherwise.

What type of file extension are you having a problem with?

It works. Maybe you have a pop up blocker preventing to open the browsing window.
You may also try with a different navigator (Chrome, Firefox.. )

Works for me on my Mac. Try closing your browser and re-opening, or using a different one if that doesn't work. Clearing cookins may help, particularly if the problem is only with your usual browser.

I guess any and all -the upload button does nothing. Yesterday when I tried it, the computer locked up and I would have to open the task manager and close out Explorer to do anything else.

Yes I find the same. I believe most people put the file on to you tube then transfer it. And I see my son send some in a compressed file. But that is way over my head. Just born to early to be computer literate.

In that case it’s Russian Hackers - tbh, if it’s all file types I haven’t got a clue. I’ve had similar messages when I’ve tried to upload an unsupported file type.

Thanks, guys. Both or either of these may be the problem. While it has worked fine since I've been on the forum until I just came back off forced telework, it's possible the IT guys may have pushed something that changed things. I'll probably just have to live with it since I do not have the privileges I need to make the potential corrections y'all suggest. That's what I get for screwing off at work. I guess that means I'll have to find some work to do. o_O

If you can get on the site I'd expect you can upload but perhaps they have done something. Our computers are locked down fairly well but we can still clear cookies. That could well be under your control still. Have you tried dragging and dropping a file on to the message window?

The controls on my computer are pretty strict, but I'll see if I can get a buddy to talk me through that. I haven't tried the drag and drop, but I will -thanks for that idea.

Also, I've just discovered my mouse does not function in this text area (I have to use the keyboard arrows) but works fine everywhere else, i.e. the emoticons. Weird.

Do you have a smart phone @JtC . If you do you can easily open the forum on your phone and upload files directly from your phone. :)

I have one and I hate using it -it's so small and I can't see for sh*t! If I find something so astonishingly funny I have no choice but to share I guess that'll be the route I go.

I went to try Octoberon's idea of dragging and dropping and the drive I last uploaded from is not available. I guess the upload button defaulted to the last location I uploaded from and did nothing because that drive isn't available (I don't know why it is unavailable). Also, the "drive mapping" icon is gone from my desk top. I may have to get IT involved after all. If I can find them.

Cut and paste works as well.

Problem solved. As suggested I did a "hard" restart and it is fixed for now. Thanks for all the tips and I will still try the drag and drop and copy and paste methods just to see if they work. Back to screwing off! :p
