alloy wheels (08 model)

question ,, are the wheels on the american dull alloy or painted/powercoated ? i thought they were a brushed alloy finish but unless mine were painted they are painted ! im only after buying my bike and not being able to see another bike to compare it as photos are decieving . thanks

I can't vouch for the 2008 model but the later models were/are polished alloy and it's shite. Corrodes very quickly and Triumph specifically exclude polished alloy items from their warranty.

I seem to remember the dealer telling me they used to be lacquered but the lacquer would start to come off and the alloy started corroding and so following some arcane logic they left the lacquer off so it started corroding sooner....

Thanks im not sure about mine untill i get more feedback ! mine are painted a dull grey/silver like powercoating looks , but the lower fork legs and the top yoke is the same finish !! so either its like this from new or else all 3 bits have been done ! i know the alloy can be a get but this colour is bad :-( i think its taking away the look of the bike , while tempted to go down the chrome wheel way ! heres a few pics !! ive searched the net and mine must have been powercoated , yes they are mint but totaly uninteresting , im tempteted to go for the chrome set ! has anybody got them and whats the quality of the chrome like ?
