Hi, I have a 2001 Adventurer which has started running on 2 cylinders, went for a ride and after 3 hrs stopped for a break, when I restarted her No.1 cylinder wasn't firing, and the rev counter wasn't working, had to get home so I continued, after 1/2 hr No1 started firing and rev counter worked and no probs all the way home. A few days later the same thing happened but only after 15mins of riding but No1 cylinder started again, now it starts only on 2 cylinders.
Ok, I've changed the spark plug, swapped coils, swapped HT leads but its always No1 that doesn't work( plus rev counter).
Any ideas? I'm not an electrical engineer so if there's any testing please explain slowly, I'm certain its electrical.

    Any help will be appreciated
No one else has had this problem on a triple?

    Many Thanks

After further investigation there is no spark to No1 cylinder, so changed the coil low tension leads from the middle to No1 coil and got a spark at the plug! So it appears there is a break on the low tension side? The wires disappear int the loom after 2". does any know where they reappear? I was wondering if I can jury rig the low tension side but I don't know where the go.

    Anybody Know?

    Me too!.................................

Anyway, I've got a lot of help from a couple of other Triumph forums and it is the CDi that's the problem, and there is a firm "IGNITECH" who manufacture a programmable unit for the Adventurer at half the cost of a Gill replacement!
