Hi everyone been putting a few miles on the Thruxton over the last few days and the handling is a bit twitchy, which I think is down to tyre pressures being a bit off

So I’m in the market for a decent footpump (Michelin double cylinder) and an accurate pressure gauge, the small pen type ones I’ve used in the past have been hopeless

can anyone recommend a good accurate gauge?

    Many thanks
    Nick

The Optimate connector is a good idea, I've just ordered one, thanks DD.

I also have a 240v AC to 12v DC converter for using my compressor in the garage:

gauge ordered from amazon, I don’t have an optimate connection but the 240 to 12v adapter looks good to get the pump up and going so those ordered as well

    all the best

I never thought about checking my tyres whilst connected to the optimate,I always started it up and took it out the garage, cheers for the info Jez.

Cheers, I've got a dual cigar socket connection, I can leave the optimate in one and plug the pump in the other.

The Tiretek flexi pro gauge turned up today and pressures were well down 28 front and 32 rear both supposed to be 36 psi!

I like this gauge easy to read, easy to get on the valve, deflate button, and no batteries

It amazes me why dealers don’t check tyre pressures before delivery as it’s the main offender for making a bike handle like crap

As electric pump turns up Friday had to get a Halford’s cheapie footpump

    all the best

I did too. Seemed to work well but now after a few months it doesn't hold the reading (needle drops down a few PSI immediately when you take it off the valve, then slowly sags). Also, with the gauge on the valve, it now reads different compared to the foot pump by a different amount than before, meaning I don't know what to trust any more...

That's disappointing, but they are supposed to have a lifetime warranty, might be worth seeing how easily they honour that warranty?
