Featured Touring A Quick Trip To Belgium

    Last Saturday 7 mates and myself went on a quick trip to Belgium. Back early on Sunday so as to make the start of the F1 race in Imola. 1 35 year old Honda Shadow, 2 Ditchpumps, and 4 hogs.

    Speedy ready to go.

    We all gathered at a parking place nearby, where my mate's wife put on an excellent full breakfast.

    After that it was off for the first leg to our hotel in Belgium, a 200 km trip.

    We parked up in front, and had some light refreshments.

    We then left for a loop ride of about 150 kilometres through the pretty countryside.

    We only stopped for drinks, so sadly no piccies of the pretty hills. Just a couple off the dashcam...

    Back at the hotel we were allowed to park up our bikes in the enclosed inner court, as long as we promised not to start them up before 9 in the morning! :joy:

    A great dinner and hilarious evening was had after that.

    Back home in one go the next morning, what a fantastic little break!

    Mars Bars and coffee - breakfast of champions. Your trip looks like it was more fun than watching the Imola race. Unless you're a Red Bull fan, I suppose. :blush:

    The trip - if short - was great fun. That area of Belgium is really pretty, and the company was excellent.
    One ditchpump was at the front, with me in hot pursuit. What the others lacked in experience, the rider up front with his GS had in spades. I could at times not keep up. When we got to nice "speedy bits" we would hurtle off and wait at he next crossroads. This way fun was had by all.

    What a great little getaway, @Vulpes! Looks like great fun. Mr. Sandi and I have become big fans of those one or two-nighter trips from home.

    I find I've become a Red Bull fan, too. We watched the race yesterday and I nearly automatically found myself cheering for their drivers. I particularly like Sergio Perez. He just seems like a solid, calm, professional workhorse sort of guy. That may or may not be true, though. Your boy Max is cleaning house!

    You've nailed Checo's ethos to a T! Max did very well indeed, managing tyres and pace. A good race!

    Awesome trip !
    LOL my riding group are all Checo's fans, along with my wife and daughter
    Many times the race happens while we're out riding, we have a policy of no spoilers during the ride, no comments until later once we have watched the race
    I think Max and Checo are a great team
