Dudes, Im stripping, cleaning and replacing any crappy parts from an old T140 engine, the engine has not covered many miles, but i figure while its apart and open, it makes sense to change all the wearing parts.

So onto my question, finding original parts is proving difficult, and alot of my searching is coming up with new manufactured parts to meet old OE specs.

With the primary chain, im seeing alot from Regina or Renold for the triplex 84 link chains, however ive never heard of them, any of you guys used them? They seem to range from £35 up to £90 for what appears to be the same thing, just wondering if the most expensive one is better?

As for the kick start pinion, mine is slightly worn, so i figured id change it, but again only finding newly made copy stuff. just wondering if anyone has used them, and could give real life feedback.

If you can't find NOS parts the aftermarket stuff is what it is and usually ok, I suppose the bike won't be a daily commuter and more a sun shine toy putting less stress on parts:)

feked.com in Dorset have got the pinion for £15. nvt or Les Williams want over 30 quid.

as for the chain, Renold was the main supplier back in the good old days

Thanks for the replies, it was what i wanted from this thread, i will give it a go ordering one of the two chain makes then as it seems they are both decent.
