The front on my 2017 speedie R is way to soft for my weight, I weigh in at about 210-220 pounds with all my gear on and i have the preload all the way in.
With this setup i can just (only just) keep it from bottoming out.

Now i don't know what the spring rate is in the standard forks but i contacted Öhlins and they (without any explanation or asking any information) told me to get these springs www.ohlins.eu/en/products/motorcycle/08790-05--5245/

These are 10,5 N/mm but i think that sounds excessive ( I'm by no means an expert ) so i was wondering if anyone here has any experience with front springs?

I would trust the Ohlin experts to recommend the correct upgrade, just tell them your weight, riding style, types of roads, pillion, luggage etc.
A combination of harder springs and change of oil will most likely be their recommendation.
I had to go tother way on my Bonnie, softer progressive springs and thinner oil worked a treat.
Take a look at the Riccor Intiminators as well before you decide.

It's not that i don't trust Öhlins, but they suggested me a spring upgrade with the only information being my weight, didn't really take into account riding style and all that jazz when i sent the mail.

So i geuss im just double checking :-D

Telephone them and ask to speak to the technical advisors.
