Blipping the throttle while the clutch is in may make 2016-18 Triumph Thruxton and Thruxton R engines stall.

Triumph has issued a global recall for a free recalibration of the engine management software on affected bikes.
Owners will be advised and the official recall notice has been issued.
    VIN ranges of affected motorcycles
    • Thruxton: VIN from 743684 to 872978
    • Thruxton R: VIN from 740405 to 872978
    • Thruxton 1200 dual sea: VIN from 754589 to 872978
    • Thruxton 1200R dual seat: VIN from 749685 to 872978
This is the second recall for the new Thruxton and the third for the new Bonneville range.

Meanwhile, owners should refrain from blipping the throttle, a practice that is often used on downshifts. It helps the engine match road speed and avoid rear-wheel lock-ups.

Mines being done, along with first service, in just over a weeks time.
Just typed my VIN No in, which showed up the recall

I received a letter yesterday from Triumph about this recall. Rang my local dealer today (Bulldog) and they said simply pop in next time you are passing and they will do the remap. No need to book in, and takes just 15 minutes.

I’ve had my Thruxton now for a year and a half. Besides cosmetic mods I fitted an X pipe cat delete and some GP slip on. She ran perfect before and still perfect with no fueling issues. Question, should I take her in for the “blipping throttle” recall or just leave it be. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it. Oh, also heard that there’s another possible upgrade something to do with gauge issues. Before and after recall experiences?

Didn’t notice any difference after my service/ recall. Just seemed the same. What’s he gauge issue? Not heard anything about that yet

Take it in, cuz there is a danger your bike could be one of the few that are affected and it will catch you out sometime. It's a 15 minute no-charge job.
