It's good to see others working on there bikes.

I'm wanting to add heated grips to fuse box. Anyone know a clean way to access back side of fuse box.

Can I take the contact out and solder a wire to it, hopefully put it back in and not destroy the fuse box.

I'm cleaning up the harness so you won't be able to see all the wires.

Currently my grips are wired to battery and I've forgot to turn'm off when arriving to work. It's a drag getting off work and having to bump start your bike.

Mine are wired to the battery too although they are ‘Oxford’ ones which turn themselves off when it recognises the engine has stopped.

I just fitted a set on Friday KOSO brand, wired to battery for ease but they have a fairly bright red LED and the controller is on the bars, hope this stops any mishaps:confused:

Thanks guys, I just wired my grips up to the battery again. Didn't want to mess with it.

I rerouted my harnesses and cleaned up looking through this area.

Welcome don't think we have spoke before. Just to reply to your original question. Most of those terminals have I little tongue that locks them into the block. You can remove them by using a very fine tool like flat head screwdriver. But can just as easily damage them.

Like I said be very careful as you can damage them and they are beggars to get out mate. You know I wondered with the question was there a special tool to remove them. Worth asking all the electric headed peeps here.
    Regards

    Ron.
That's interesting. Find out some more like a maker as I wouldn't mind a pair myself. I am always taking pins out and its a beggar sometimes.
    Regards
    Joe.

Sometimes a lot easier just to carefully peel back small area of chosen wire insulation and Join/piggy back wire solder in place and tape.

All this talk of clean access to backsides and butt splicing puts me in mind of a bidet :(

However, more practically your answer might be a Scotch connector.
