Hi Ist Triumph since 2008 when I ditched my 2005 ST1050 in disgust. My first Triumph was a 1970 Trailblazer T25T, then a 1972 T100R Daytona followed by a couple of 1981 & 1982 Kawasaki GPz550's. I had a Suzuki GT380 for a while then a 1997 Daytona 1200 (covered 50,000 miles). A 2005 Sprint ST 1050 covered just 20,000 miles in 3 years - I fell out with it and Triumph. I still have my 2008 Gen 2 Hayabusa (bought new, now with 125,000 miles) and made a mistake buying a new 2021 Gen 3 Hayabusa. I didn't like it but T-Boning a car at 30 mph wrote it off. Bought a 2018 Kawasaki z1000 H2 SX SE which is in my garage waiting for me to replace the radiator. I am in the unusual position of having 3 bikes to ride although I am selling the H2 rocket. My Sprint ST is also sat in my garage waiting for suggestions as to why the front wheel sticks when I try to tighten the spindle - see my thread posted today. Keep Smiling Ian
Looks to me like the speedo drive isn't positioned correctly? The cable should exit behind the fork leg, not in front. I think there might be two possible positions to locate it to the fork leg to suit different models?
Hi, XXX The pictures are taken from the front and the sensor is located on the fork lug with the cable routing to the rear between the fork and front wheel. I will check again and compare old and 'new' sensors. Thank you for your input, I'll let you know.
@IDC Yes the speedo drive has to be located correctly. They did have a washer on the spindle inside of the leg if memory serves me right. But they are my favourite Triumph. I had a few over the years and just loved that triple ripple. Welcome to to the family.
