Sports touring 180's. Full on sticky stuff only lasts me 1700 miles, there must be something out there that can do more than 3000 a set??

Anyone got some decent grip and life out or a set?....

Im running Dunlop Roadsmart II's and more than happy with them

The Metzler MT07's are also getting good reviews

I know someone on a zx6r who commutes every day, hoons at the weekend and has done 2 trackdays on one set of MT07's

Bridgestone BT023's (have them on my Daytona 1000 and also used to have them on my 2009 Fireblade) brilliant tyre and a reasonable cost.

Also Metzeler Z8's are also a great tyre (had them on my 2011 Speed Triple)

Both of these tyres offer good mileage and excellent grip in both the wet and dry. The Bridgestone is also not too expensive as it is now a 2nd generation tyre dur the the S20 turning up.

Really don't see the point in putting a set of race biased tyres on a road bike that you have to replace every 2000 miles or less, Actually the worst ones I had were the Metzeler K3's which came new with the Speed Triple and had to be replaced after only 902 miles, they were also the scariest set of tyres to ride if there was also any hint of moisture on the road.

    Cheers

Recently sold my '02 Daytona which had Avon Viper (I think - a sporty type anyway!) on the front with an Avon Storm ST on the back, which was an excellent combination. Storms are better now than the originals (which mine was) and the newer still 3Ds are supposed to be better still. Mileage on mine was looking to be in excess of 4,000 on the back - but I am steady away ... mostly!!! Avons do seem to offer a good combination of grip, handling, wear and price ... got 'em on me Trident 900 as well!
