    Hi,

I'm new to the forum, and new to repairing my own bikes.

I've just picked up an old tired 955i RS. I think it's been molested and bodged a few times in its life. (I was started before I bought it but the tank was off when I picked it up)

I was wondering if anyone could help me please.

I'm fitting the fuel tank and there are no hoses that fit the breather hoses (i believe that's what they are). One looks like it's been sealed. Can anyone tell me where the remaining one should connect to. The other connections seem pretty self obvious.

    Thanks

    Christian

Hi Christian, sorry for the late reply I have been away at the IOM Grand Prix, I can let you have either a genuine Triumph workshop manual or I can copy it for you, the original factory one I will let you have for £25 plus postage, or a copy for £12 plus postage, the copy will take a lot of time as there are an awful lot of pages to copy, it would use almost all the printer ink. The factory manuals are no longer available and cost £70 at the time. Given you mention that you intend doing all the repairs yourself then a proper manual will assist no end. There are basically 3 different engines for the RS 955i, and you don't mention the year, or if your machine is a single sided swing arm or the twin sided one. If you just want to identify the correct location for all the hoses etc etc then I can assist with that, as mentioned you will need to say the year, or post the engine and chassis number and I can tell you what you require. I would say given the tank was off when you bought it, then an attempt had been made to rectify a fault, and either through a lack of knowledge, skill or money they gave up and sold it on. I just hope that it was not the centre plug seized and an attempt to remove ended in disaster, this is a known problem, the rubber seals failed and let water get down the head to the plug rusting them solid. I do have lots of parts for these (dependant on the year). Hope this helps. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.
