    Hi all,
First off I've been checking through the threads before joining and have already replaced the vacuum hoses with silicon jobbies. Now to the issue.

My bike has started to have an intermittent hanging throttle, especially when it's getting hot. When pulling up, the throttle will hang at about 2000rpm. The only way to slow the engine being to slip the clutch and apply some brake. Once it drops below 2000rpm it'll idle happily at 1200rpm until revs are built up past 2000 again when riding.

I have also noticed that the bike seems to run a little hotter, the fan doesn't seem to come on and the can seems a little sooty as if it was running rich. On shut off I'll get an occasional exhaust pop which doesn't bother me, and low revs can be a little lumpy.

The bike has a k&n filter and Fuel F1 can fitted. Besides that it is standard.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this intermittent idling issue? Faulty ECU temp sensor?

Also, can someone walk me through this 12min tune.

    Kind Regards
    Rockette

Did you replace the hoses before after the issues

After the issue first arose. It is intermittent put the first call was to replace the vacuum hoses.

Check throttle cable has slack in it and it isn't trapped and throttle tube is free. As you have done the ivac hoses already, I assume you used vacuum quality piping and no tight bends, I would try a different map from tunecu, maybe that will help. I remapped my 885 T509 to remove a lag at around 2500rpm but tbh I was just lucky it worked, not sure how I did it.

    Hi Dave
    Praise be.

Used vacuum quality silicon hose. Nice flowing curves with no kinks. Unlike me who has no curves and lots of kinks.

Think I've sorted it. Think it was a number of small issues. A badly mounted atmospheric sensor. A dubious electrical connection to the water temp sensor, a badly routed throttle cable needing some lube, and a troublesome and worn throttle grip rubbing on the bar end mirror mount. Seems to be running fine now and the fan is starting again. Who knows. It's a triumph.
