My petcock wasn't working the way it should so I got a K & L repair kit, installed and it leaks even more. Has anyone used a Pingel Petcock ?

Check Sprint Manufacturing at www.triumphparts.gbr.cc for rebuild kits etc, plus many other parts for earlier bikes. Have used them myself several times with excellent service. I'm sure they deliver overseas. Worth a try?

I tried a rebuild kit for the petcock.on my '95 Sprint. It leaked worse than before :( I bought a complete new petcock from the Triumph dealer, no more problems. It was expensive but so is fuel on the ground. ...J.D.

I used a Pingle on my Harley and it was very smooth. I thought it was an improvement over stock because it allowed me to run the gas out while turned off, unlike the stock valve!

I looked in to using a Pingle but on the Sprint I did not think it would work well because of the way the bodywork fits around the valve. But I know what you mean. I don't like the fact that I cannot run the engine dry without disconnecting the vacuum line. ...J.D.

Just get a new one from triumph, the repair kits only work 20% of the time.

Stiĺl available. Althogh you are Stateside yo could have got from Jack Lilley in UK. They ship worldwide and post to US not too bad. US to UK is crazy price. UK price is £65 but you can purchase VAT free.

Pingel on and tested. If I don't turn fuel off it loads up. When it is on, it is on. With old petcock it didn't do that. Boy with sidecar it is really different steering. Got to practice and build up my arms a bit. 20190922_142613_resized_2.jpg

Funny thing. There is a lot of 17" used on cars in the US. Two out of my three cars use 17" and the third uses 18". I'm just trying to wrap my head around what my Sprint would be like with a sidecar :) …J.D.

BTW: May I ask ? Who's front brake caliper are you using ?

They are off a GSXR . Bolt right up. The spare tires are 135 X 17 on a lot of cars. They don't last long on a car. Also I am finding that some car tires don't fit our rims because of some reason.

Handy upgrade with the sidecar. I'm using Daytona Super III calipers on mine. It was converted way back when by the previous owner, but I have had the bike 17 years. ...J.D.
