Hi I've been fighting an issue on my Daytona 600 where nothing happens when I press the start button. I've replaced the harness, the ECU, the switch, the starter relay and solenoid, I've ruled everything out except the little block in the back of the bike. I'm not sure what I'd does but looking at wiring diagram it's runs to just about everything in the bike. Any information would be appreciated.

Looks very much like a blanking plug. This is used if the alarm, that might have been on it, has been removed.
It basically makes the complete circuit again.

Bikerman is correct, it is used when disconnecting/removing the alarm system that has been plugged into the main wiring harness as opposed to splicing into the loom. The wiring in your photo looks to be in very poor condition, I would cut back all the damaged wires and re connect them, leave it like that and you will risk overheating/shorting and a potential fire risk, not to mention poor/non starting.

Never noticed the wiring till I looked at it on the laptop. Not in good nick at all.
