Triumphworld Chesterfield, along with a couple others here, it seems. How shall we recognise each other?
Figwold and I might go to Pure Triumph in Wellingborough rather than Woburn after we discovered today there's free beer from the local independent brewery at the Embankment showroom, and cakes from a local cakery too.
A1.moto great launch night.Good food and entertaining night......oh and the bikes are drop dead gorgeous.
Well I'm back from the launch. It's a gorgeous bike but so small! I'm not that tall at 5' 11" but it felt like sitting on a moped. There were several taller guys and not one of them felt comfortable. On the other hand there were a lot guys a couple of inches shorter than me and they all loved it. All of that said it's is going to sell by the shed load!
At the launch with figwold where we met up with Privateer and MrsPrivateer. Mrs.P is a petite lady and feet flat to the floor (just) the Bobber so suited her. Maybe Privateer can persuade Mrs.P to come over from the dark side (HD). Seemingly loads of folk who pre-ordered the red want the ironstone now they've seen it in the flesh. I fell in love with the Scrambler.
Despite being only 9 minutes away from Destination Triumph Solent (staying at a friends house dog sitting this week), I decided to meet up with my mate and go to the Bobber launch at Three Cross Motorcycles in the New Forest. Well it's more of a ride isn't it? We were late because the twat hasn't used his Explorer for 6 weeks and so had a flat battery! Finally got a jump start from one of his Land Rovers with massive heavy duty leads which wouldn't fit on the little bike battery terminals so had to be held in place. Took some rather poor mobile phone pics - but I do like the Bobber, my only criticism would be that it looks too neat and shiny for that style of bike - would look good in all matt black I think, like the Bonnie Black. Street Cup in yellow looks great (see Bikermans photos rather than mine!). Scramblers not bad either Even Delboy left his garage to come and have a look!
Got very wet on the way home and spent a couple hours this morning cleaning the LT. Still worth the effort. Wessa
I managed to sit on the Bobber at the NEC show back in November.. now seeing that Im a 6 foot 1 second row playing lump of a bloke, I honestly felt that it felt okay and nice to sit "in" as opposed to on... admittedly yes it had the ape hanger bars and the alternative seat (padded not leather bucket) but it felt good ! I also like the Scrambler... not sure on luggage options for either though as Id like to do longer runs .. can't afford 2 bikes unfortunately so it'd have to be one of these with good luggage or stick with the Sprint.
