As my insurance is due in the next six weeks or so I've been collection some quotes just as a rough guide to what it will be for another year on the Street Twin. Im looking at £85.50 fully comp, which Im more than happy with, i was just wondering what quote are other people getting?

Well you could at least share with us.... who's giving you the quote? That's a quarter of what I pay and mine is due next month. Mind you, look at alll the other insurance threads and the variety from the same insurers is vast!

Mine's due in a month never had my renewel as yet but tried a comparision site and -
Triumph Thunderbird 1600, fully comp,(of course there standard 350 XS)
57 year old rider no claims 18 yrs no claims came in at around 100 quid !!!
which I thought was good, on looking at another quote I found an all bells and whistles
quote for approx 112 quid which included all extras, basic recovery, riding other bike, riding other
coutries, legal cover etc, that was with a company called One call Insurance,
Seems a no brainer for an extra 12 quid

We'll see what my renewal price brings forth !!!

I was with them, until they increased the insurance on my Thrux from 280 to 750 for no apparent reason apart from saying that's what it is!

Mine's up for renewal 1st March. Tried MCE for a quote.... they didn't know what a Triumph Street Twin was. Game Over.
Tried Carole Nash.... they didn't know what one was either !!

To be fair CN did phone me to ask why I had aborted my online quote, I told them my bike wasn't recognized in their system. After they kept me on hold for a bit they then said " how does £386 sound ?"....... Game Over again.

    I'll keep trying.

(last year I paid £212 with Bennetts, their renewal this year is over £300)

Blimey Reggie, i thought it would be cheap up where you are? On the comparison sites i had quotes from MCN and CN so i don't know why they didn't recognise yours, did you give them your reg?

That made it worse Sam...... I've got a private plate on it and they couldn't find it from that either.

I'm a bit peeved with these high quotes I've been given as I usually pay around £200 ish for the two bikes. I'll keep trying but maybe I'll just have to get my head around the fact that it's getting dearer nowadays to insure bikes.
