Works perfect with heated grips turned off or on low snaps shut like it should but on high the grip seems to expand hence the sticking

    Yikes. Don't trust cruise control.

Once had a Renault go-faster car with cruise control and thumb controls on the steering wheel for the accelerator. The cruise control disengaged if you touched any of the foot pedals or the thumb control - except one day at 70mph up the M1 before all the widening, approaching road works at Toddington Services late evening where it narrowed from three to one lane, when the fekker stuck. I jabbed the thumb control which served only to increase the speed. So there I was shooting through the 40mph one-lane-no-hard-shoulder section at 70/75/80/85/90/95/100mph and bricking myself, till it occurred top me to turn off the ignition and coast and brake into the hard shoulder just past J12 where the road works ended.

Now having second thoughts about retro fitting OEM heated grips to my Street Twin ;)

Sorry, I know what you mean about the heated grips....... Had same problem on mine, grips had been on Hi for about 20 mins and throttle stayed on. reported to local dealer, they sorted but claimed the grip was fouling on the bar end weight.
Throttle bodies. Look at http://www.thetriumphforum.co.uk/posts/86687/ and see if you have the same problem sneaking up on you!

Ahh follow you now thought you meant had I striped them down.well they look like what you see on an oily rag restoration at a show not the prettiest especially on a 10 k bike.I do tend to lash on wd40 when cleaning as like you're self mine stays outdoors coverd but not used throughout the winter .When it was in for the fuel harness recall they noticed corrosion on the underside of my tank so there's a new tank waiting for me to get fitted. The left shock spring near the top the powdercoating is more a dusting and the usual battle with the nipples for the spokes .mine was an ex demo so probably only got a quick hose down and left it's first 3 month of its life.

This has been reported elsewhere on this forum as well. When collecting my T120 the dealer advised not to use 'Hi'. I suspect they know about this!!

Easy fix probably ....but I see us lot as the crash test crew jumping in on the first 2year of a new model help get the quirks irond out I'm not sure if it's going to be a keeper yet so haven't spent anything on mods
