    Hey all,

First post so apologies if I miss anything out that I should have put in! Also thanks for any help/feedback on this in advance.

So I've been riding around in the Winter last year and this year so far and I ain't the biggest bloke so I can get cold fairly damn fast - Specifically in my hands. I've got some heated grips to help, but whilst my palms are great now my knuckles and fingers still get painfully cold and I'm damn sure it ain't doing me any good in the long run (plus it's generally uncomfortable for even short rides).

I've been looking around online for some handguards but I cannot seem to find anything specific for a Triumph America (2009 version specifically) and whilst I've found some 'universal' ones, but... Well how 'universal' are they really?

And found some decent ones from the US, wondering if maybe there's a way to get 'best match' to my bike and fit them from there?... These are for a Honda Shadow - But there's loads of variety - None for my Triumph though.

Any help is really appreciated, I thought this would have been an easy task but apparently not..

    Regards,
    Vinny.

First off welcome to the forum, perhaps give a small introduction to yourself in the Newbie's hangout section :D
In answer to your question I believe most universal muffs can be made to fit, have a read over this section may give you some ideas as to what can be done.

(of course it contains the usual banter but worth a read through and contains pictures )

Black tape my friend, lol. Like you I do things on the cheap. Likewise the levers, cannot believe people pay £120 and more for levers.

Wahoo! Thank you all! I was expecting an answer in and around 2018 (most forums seem useless at responding). Just looking at the links you all posted now so will definitely get something off Ebay perhaps. A lot cheaper and some good stuff - Plus if they don't fit for whatever reason I won't be chucking money down the drain (can always invest in better later I guess!).

    Thanks again all! Very helpful.

Oh those actually look perfect! They actually look a lot easier to fit to my America compared to some others. I've got some coming this week but I think they won't work - My handlebars seem quite cluttered compared to other bikes I've had for some reason, and the indicators are quite close to the top.

Made these a few years ago for my VT125. Arm needs extending for the America. Give you some idea of fit.

I'm actually quiet liking the look, Think I'll remake the brackets and extend them to fit.

Have to say I had noticed those in my search originally and thought they looked naff. I totally eat my words. Very tidy job there mate.
I am almost tempted to get some of those and replace mine. ooooh decisions decisions.

    hi vinny
have you ever thought about 'heated gloves'?
i've got the Oxford heated grips (red hot) and Oxford heated gloves (wired), i ride all year round and in winter weathers bang the grips and gloves on max power and honestly my hands are like toast.. would highly recommend:)
