I have an Arai rebel. It's designed primarily for use on naked bikes. Apparently it's more stable. Truth be told, I think it's a gimmick. I also have an AGV k5. The AGV is the first choice, despite costing over £140 less than the Arai. It's lighter, and I get less turbulent air flow up past the chin bar due to the great chin skirt which is built in. ATB Bob
I have an AGV Corsa which is brilliant for wind noise and turbulence. Had an Arai previous which wasn't great but the AGV is spot on. Very quiet as well.
you probably dont want to hear this but ive got a flip lid i bought from Aldi, i only bought it cos the weather was hot and i wanted something cheap i could leave on the bike when i went out, its bloody good value and i dont get much buffeting, i tend to use it more than my Craft
I like what you've put, but wouldn't get one myself, the 'better' known brands have been developed over many years and whilst you may appear to pay over the odds at times, you do have to pay for quality, safety and style. Last years models discounted are the best value in my opinion. I have a Bell carbon fibre full face which I paid £122 from Amazon with a RRP of £500, great buy and great helmet! Careful leaving it on your bike when out, if it does get nicked it may only be low value but it is highly inconvenient.
Have to agree with Mick here. The big manufacturers invest heavily in safety, and when dealing with your head, you can't be too careful. And last years models will be heavily discounted. Each to their own tho...
Another vote (x2) for the Shoei GT Air. I and the wife both have them (SWMBO rides a Street Triple so very similar) and had no problems with buffeting or lifting and reasonably quiet (we both have always worn ear plugs anyway), and the helmet has internal sun visor which I wouldn't be without. Rate them better than the SchuberthC2 I had previously (shell size too big and heavy - admittedly not comparing like for like - and glare from sun visor).
I have the Shark R (2012 model)...found the wind noise overpowering, bought the chin and nose guard in an attempt to reduce wind noise and using normal ear plugs. (I have a 2012 STR with no fairing by the way...).
