Winter's Coming

My bonnevilles off the road now and 'the Chinese tourer' is on, cheap, chearful, plenty of plastic and a bloody good fairing.

 

Snow predicted for tomorrow, even if it doesn't happen, gritter's will be out in force tonight, so America is definitely away till spring. Just going to start cleaning it, for it's little hibernation.

Been looking at a cheap road bike for winter, but I always end up looking at stuff I like, then a couple of hundred ends up at a couple of grand and then I close EBay down and wander away back to my man-cave !!!!

Doubt I'll do much mileage on the Thruxton over winter, but it will still get the cobwebs blown off it on the odd nice day.
The Ducati Hyperstrada will be used often, heated grips, good textiles and Oxford heated vest, only snow and ice on the road will keep it in the garage.

 

What's your take on the Oxford heated vest? I've been looking at them and the older I get the better idea they appear to be. Do you run lithium external battery or off the bike?

 

I've got both and either are excellent, the one that plugs into the bike is best for longer rides and weeks away camping etc. The lithium battery one is handy under my drysuit when jet skiing/wakeboarding, but its good on the bike too because it obviously still works away from the bike, when your sat outside having a burger and pint ;-)
