I'm confused at moment about the exact model i've recently bought from a non Triumph dealer. They advertised it as a SE model, but on V5 no mention, & on TTP website its a standard one. My Vin GA418485 sept 09 865cc EFI model.

    Any thoughts?

Does it have twin clocks or just a speedo ?

Engine-wise there is no difference between the base Bonny and the SE.

Mine was sold as an SE in 2014, V5 states Bonneville 865, alloy wheels, dual colour, single speedo, your VIN looks a bit short as per my VIN (16 characters) - just ride and enjoy.

'Se' should have silver and black engine, two clocks and two tone paint. From what I recall if any of those are missing then it's a base 'bonneville' with add ons. Mines a 'bonneville black' I think with two clocks (added afterwards) and all black.

Thanx for that it seems to be a base Bonnie by all accounts.

My wife's got a purple/white SE, it doesn't say anything about SE on the logbook anywhere.

I dont think the dealer was being out of order in a deliberate way, saw all the bits & bobs on it & thought it was non standard, like i did. Oh well you live & learn. Thanx for replies.

Bit like the Bonneville basic and T100, only difference is T100 has a tacho and 'T100' on the side panels, as well as the word Bonneville, mines a basic but the 1st owner had the tacho added when he had the engine bars, K/Q seat, rack, and other bits added soon after he got it, so probably confused a few of the future owners.

Doesn't the T100 have wire wheels and the Bonnie Cast wheels ?

In the previous Bonny range there was the basic Bonny with one clock, alloys; then the SE with twin clocks, alloys, twin colour paint and ally cases; then the T100 with chrome cases, wires - but they are had the same mechanicals.

Obvious there was in addition the Scrambler and the Thruxton, but the conversation here is about 'Bonnies'.

The wife's Bonnie SE has cast wheels same as most of the Bonnies I've seen in the local dealers. I guess they must have changed the spec at some point?

From what I could work out when we bought the bike in 2014, the std Bonnie's and SE's had cast wheels, the T100's (and I think the Scrambler and Thruxton) had wire wheels.
