Look nice but 55hp with 213kg dry weight doesn't sound too attractive....!

aCCORDING TO MY DEALER tRIUMPH is trying to create two different product lines with 2 different pricing bands.

In November he is hosting a get-together to show off the T100. I must admit I quite like the look of the Street Cup.

PS I think they are running the existing models just to rid of the old engines, then we'll see the full range of versions on the 900 band.

I guess Bandit the power will come from the higher torque engine.

Food for thought biglad, what with the release of the T120 early this year I am wondering what market they are aiming at with the new T100? Oh well hey ho. Off to the dealer when they are in and have a look see. I am thinking about a new bike for next year, and with so much choice I`d be like a kid in a sweet shop.;););)

The new 900's don't make any sense to me. Why would you buy one if you had you're current 865cc models sorted and tuned, they put out more HP than the newbies from triumph, my 08 America has much more since I put 904cc high compression piston big bore kit in,was 57 - 58 HP @ rear wheel before the kit went in and that was just from a good dyno operators tuning efforts.

Lighter, more torque (both combine to make it quicker off the line), ABS, traction control...

I've had traction control for 35yrs, never spun the back wheel unless I intended !! As for ABS, some like it , some don't. I've had ABS in cars for 10 yes and more never needed it, the bike riding makes us better driver's ? Doesn't it ?? I know I get a discount on my insurance because I have done advanced driving course in the Australian Army and advance riding course's off my own volition, so as I said above. The new 900's don't make sense to me, and if I wanted more acceleration I would drop the trailer , leave the Wife at home , if I still wanted more acceleration I could gear the bike down ? Add 2 or 3 teeth to the rear sprocket. Takes 30 to 40 mins to change it .... As for more torque. My bike as 865cc with a run on a dyno and tuned for Torque not max HP had more torque than the new 900's , now it's a 904cc ...

Triumph had to introduce the new 900cc liquid cooled engine as the old 865 air cooled lump won't pass the new Euro 4 standards for stricter emissions rules. Not ridden one yet but I understand that the bikes are lighter and the engine delivers more torque than the old one.

I am hoping to pop down to Destination Triumph at Fareham this week to have a look and maybe a test ride of some of the new models. ;)

Was down there first thing Saturday and they had two T100's under the covers ready for the launch. Got a good look at one and had a chat with Pete the manager as he had to polish it!

I have to admit Steve they are not my favourite dealer. Just me I guess, when I bought my T100 it was a case of got your money, see ya. I am looking to upgrade next year but still not sure to which model, choices choices choices, decisions decisions decisions, lol. I quite fancy the new street twin, or maybe the new T120, or maybe, see what I mean :D;)

They've been OK with me - I bought both bikes from there and I make a point of dropping in when ever I'm passing for a chat, so that most of them know me now - I think that helps. They are my nearest dealer as they are for you, and it's a good run down there via Loomies.
As to which bike - lots of choice including the new T100 and Street Cup models or the bigger 1200 range - just go test ride them all - you know it makes sense!:rolleyes:

I get your point Steve, I can only put it down to experience. I do fancy the T120 though.
