    Over the last few years I've been watching quite a few touring videos on Youtube and have been both inspired and rather disappointed with the mix available.

    I was wondering if anybody else has any recommendations to watch, or avoid?

    To get the ball rolling -

    I love this guy, or did, before he remastered his videos made them more about himself rather than the quiet joy of big skies and endless roads, but still very watchable!

    The lady loves these two and I've got to admit they have their charms and the Vids are well produced, but at times they appear a little naive and unknowledgeable, they also make it somewhat obvious that BMW and even Stena Line are in on the deal, but still worth watching.

    Can't leave out the Missenden Flyer who was a great Triumph man but appears to have shifted Honda's way. On his tour vids I'm left with the impression that we are informed what's happening on a need to know basis but he has plenty of other stuff. Is he ex RAF? Kinda gives that impression at times.

    @Grandad's Mug:
    In my opinion most of those videos are boring. Only some of them offer a few sequences with great scenarios and views. Most of them are filled with lots of "Blablabla" and endless road scenes without any interesting parts.
    I prefer and love the photo stories of our forum members which they offer us after their road trips and journeys. I got many interesting ideas and lots of tips for new experiences. Another positive thing is the possibility to ask some detailed questions and to receive real answers and impressions.;)

    Ah, Markus, you are blessed with scenery in Austria! :) Yet it's not always about what you see, the atmosphere is very important as well I find. A couple of weeks ago we took a day trip out on a dull grey day that even sent us some light rain as we rode along the Shannon, but it just felt so right, we stopped in a cafe for while watching the drizzle pass, it was a hugely romantic trip in every sense of the word, we loved it.

    I was impressed with the skill and confidence Sean and Emily rode the Hardknott Pass in a different video. Having done that one two-up on a wet winter's day it was quite the challenge.

    They've done a lot of the continent together, got themselves a nice little earner doing these vids and fair play to them. No idea what the deal with BMW is but it's good publicity for the company to have a pretty girl making videos while a quite capable rider does the biking bit. Only had an hour or so on a GS and it struck me as an easy bike to ride, BMW know how to flatter the rider and that's a large part of its success I reckon.

    Mind you, I'm coming from solo riding on sports tourers and we tackled the Gap of Dunloe two up on our first trip out together on the Tiger Explorer 1200, not the most stable at slow speeds, but I managed to keep it upright, just!

    Not come across this guy, but as you say the videography is some of the best there is. Norwegians are always thought of as rather unfriendly folk but was out there (not on a bike) for a few days last year and got on great guns with them.

    I can honestly say that I've never heard of that one, I've been to Norway more than half a dozen times, and for me I can't fault the Norwegians. I even one time turned up at a campsite, and before I even got my tent up, I was sitting at the table having ice cream with the family. I could go on, but nobody wants to read war and peace.:joy:.
    All being well, I'm going back next year. If anyone is thinking of going to Norway, don't think anymore, do it. You'll love it, maybe not the cost of everything, but sod the cost, you'll reap the rewards of touring a stunning country, and meeting friendly people who speak better English than us English :joy::joy:

    I highly regard "Classic Rides" videos on YouTube.

    Very calm and understated, usually just very well produced video, gentle background music and no narration.
