Hi all, I’ve recently picked up two of the Triumph Daytona 765 Moto2 Limited Edition (Europe version) bikes and plan to convert them both into dedicated track machines. As you’ll probably know, these are beautiful, rare machines with some trick components—but because they’re limited edition, I’m finding it tough to source certain parts. One example is the link pipe. I’m reaching out to Triumph directly, but I also thought it’d be smart to post here and see if anyone has insight or has worked on one of these bikes before. What I need help with: Parts compatibility: Which components from other Triumph models (Street Triple RS, earlier Daytonas, etc.) are directly compatible—especially things like exhaust link pipes, rearsets, subframe bits, etc. Aftermarket support: Any known brands offering compatible track-focused parts? Build/tech specs: Any detailed Triumph documentation or dealer resources I could request for geometry, electronics, or ECU access? General advice if you’ve done track builds with this platform before. The goal is to build two solid, reliable, high-performance track weapons while preserving what makes these bikes special. I’m happy to share updates, photos, and setup details along the way—hopefully it'll help others who might want to do something similar. If anyone from Triumph sees this, or if anyone has a direct contact there who could help, I’d be grateful. Cheers, Clare
Hi Clare, the Moto 2 has a one piece exhaust system so no link pipe, there are a number of exhaust you can choose from, it depends on your budget, a large amount of tuning parts are also available, the same is true for rear sets. Have a look at UK race support they supply lots of parts, they are also very helpful with advice and support, also Peter Hickman Racing (PHR), Peter specialises in the 765 and as you will be aware races them himself, his workshop offers a full range of services, including full engine builds to full race spec, or fast road. The Moto 2 is basically a 765rs, they share many components. Given the Moto 2 came out in 2024 it is proving difficult to break into the OEM ECU, this is not insurmountable but alternatives can be costly. If you would like any further information just update the post.
Thank you for the welcome messages and advise so far. Lil update. There's now 3 Triumph Dayton 765 Moto2s on order (that's what Triple means right??) 1 is to keep in the living room, it only has 37 miles on it, I couldn't bring myself to track it. The other 2 are being converted. Luckily, I've had some amazing advise from Matt @smallboytrackbikes https://www.smallboytrackbikes.co.uk Matt has raced and owned Triumph bikes for years, I would kill to have the knowledge he has on them. His spec is pretty dope. His bikes are amazing to ride, I totally recommend a track day with him. Hopefully he doesn't mind me sharing this, but this is what I'm aiming for. • ECU Flashed Triumph Tracs Software • Revs Increased 13200rpm • 130bhp - 61ftlb torque • Ohlins Steering Damper • Brembo Stylema Front Calipers • EBC FA447HH Front Brake Pads • Pipewerx Decat, Link Pipe, Low Level Exhaust • MWR Race Air Filter • HEL Braided Front & Rear Links (ABS removed) Motul RBF660 Brake Fluid • HEL Front Brake Master Cylinder • GB Racing Engine Covers • GB Racing Crash Protectors • GB Racing Paddock Stand Bobbins • GB Racing Brake Lever Guard • Evotech Radiator Guard • Spider Rearsets • Spider Clipons • Spider Race Fuel Cap • P1 Products Carbon Tank Protection • Jap4Performance Carbon Frame & Swingarm Covers • Race Torx Gearshift Support (not sure on this myself, need to research) • TSM fairings (not Matts spec as he has his own fairings) • Triple 6ix Engineering Lock Stops • Triple 6ix Engineering Rear Subframe Bracket • Triple 6ix Engineering Breather Blanking Plates • Triple 6ix Engineering Top Yoke • Triple 6ix Engineering Titanium Tank pin
