Went for a ride out today, primarily to properly evaluate the recent re mapping of the STRS765. I left home at 10am, headed to Milnthorpe, then the Lyth Valley, quick stop at Bowness, then onto Kirkstone Pass, then dropped down the struggle into Ambleside, onto Grasmere, then over Dunmail Raise, and onto Keswick, from there I headed to Kirkby Lonsdale with a quick stop off at Devils Bridge, then onto Ingleton, from there to Ribblehead, then took that wonderful road to Settle, after a quick bite to eat it was onto High Bentham to Low Bentham, then Wennington and onto Wray, from there to Caton and headed back home arriving at 7pm. The transformation in the bike is like night and day, it has exceeded my expectations, the throttle response low down is pure heaven, very smooth, I deliberately tried it in 6th gear at 20mph, and not a single judder or hesitation, it was silky smooth, the acceleration has noticeably improved, the mid range has more torque with no need to change down, in 6th gear you can wind it on and instantly it is up where you want it. Out of all the mods and extras this is by far the best money I have spent. Woolwich Racing perfected this map, and all credit to them as it is simply fantastic. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.

Hi Bikerman, it is yes, not that often it all works out, but great when it does as you say.

I installed the Hepco & Becker panniers to the Bonneville as I'm interested in some touring on the bike this summer. Install was simple, the hardware and bags are robust and the instructions easy to follow.

Although leather, the bags are considered water resistant and reviews from users say they are essentially waterproof.

Bags have locks for mounting as well as closure.

Size on the small-ish end compared to the hard panniers on my GS, but I think will encourage lighter packing. Always a good thing in my mind. I have a 30 liter tail bag as well.

The mounting racks are easy to remove and I'll see how they are to live with between trips. However, these may be handy for grocery runs and errands.

I am working tonight, so today I took my Striple over the Gospel Pass, then for lunch (chicken wrap, very tasty!) at the Honey Cafe in Bronllys and called in via the newly reopened Dom’s Bike Stop for a drink on the way home. Only about 94 miles done, but the Gospel Pass is not a fast one…single track and very gravelly in places - and who would want to speed past the breathtaking scenery anyway? That bike meet looks like so much fun, @Iceman! Hope you had a grand time! It's a shame we don't seem to have those sorts of events around where I live anymore. There are a few things starting to happen again in the Tucson area, though, so I'll keep the gang here up to date as Steve and I participate in local events. Also, I really, really like that Harley.

Nice change on the bags, @Fork Lock. And nothing like a smaller "purse" to make one take stock of all the crap that's been in the old one! :joy: I've recently done the same with the saddlebags on my Harleys and will cull from the tail bag on my Speed Triple, too.

Went out to do some shopping with my better half and popped into my local Triumph dealer for some service parts for my Speed Triple. Don't know what happened but ended up buying a new bike instead. I needed to downsize due to my aging 75 years old bones. Initially considered a Speed 400 but ended up with a Speed Twin 900. I have had various Speed Triples for more than 25 years and the 1050 RS was the best ever but I had to reluctantly let it go.
