Tiger Sport Tft Display

I read somewhere that some people are unhappy that they are unable to set the display on the 850 Sport to be permanently dark - the screen auto resets to light mode.
I for one prefer the dark mode but had resigned myself to not being able to set it to default.
Today whilst out on a pootle, I lowered the Garmin Sat Nav that I had previously fitted so that the screen was more ‘in my face’ so to speak.
Lo and behold, the screen went dark and stayed that way all the way home no matter the speed.
I believe that the base of the Garmin and its holder were low enough (almost sitting on the top of the display) that it may well have obscured the light sensor in the display so that the ‘Dark’ mode stayed on. Nearing home, I lifted the Garmin up and yes, the display turned to light mode.
I will over the next few days, try some black insulating tape at the top of the display in various positions and sizes to see if this cures my issue!!

 

Doh! Just read in the manual not to cover the top of the display as it will not allow the change from light to dark and vice versa!!!
So it can be fixed for your preference quite easily...
