Bike failed it MoT this week and got it back Friday evening after work.

It failed on steering head bearing stiff or notchy (fixable). Stop lamp not working, all directions indicators not working and horn not working.

Had a mess about yesterday afternoon and found that if the key is turned to steering lock poition i.e. the natural poistion to switch off too, this problem is created.

If you turn the key to the parking position one turn left extra so headlights turn on the horn, indicators and stop light all work. Turn on ignition from this and everything continues to work no problem.

Go back to steering lock key poistionand problem returns.

    Any ideas?

Horn, brake lights and indicators are all on the same circuit from Fuse 4 in the fuse box.

Check the +VE supply from the fuse box. These units should not be active with the key in the parking position. Only in the on position.

As such, there seems to be power being drawn from the ignition switch for these circuits when the key is in the wrong position.

I suspect a cross connection in the ignition switch between the seperate power circuits.

With the key in on no power is getting to fuse 4 probably due to a break/short

With the key in park, power is leaking into the fuse 4 circuit from a cross connection
