    After a long period of waiting, due to my 4 months of working abroad (https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/on-the-way-to-the-origin-of-democracy), I picked up my new Rocket 3 R STORM (named "Stormi") yesterday at my dealer (www.gesslbauer.at) in the small village called Birkfeld in Styria.

    After some hints and tips from my dealer a filled it up with fuel and rode my first 100 km on it back home. It was great. The weather was sunny, but it was very cool (2-4 degree celsius) and the roads were mostly wet. Therefore I did a smooth ride and enjoyed it! Today I did a small 70 km tour to my father in law to take off all the ugly security stickers. Today it was foggy and the humidity was near 100%.;)
    In the following some first impressions.

    At the dealer.

    In the morning I mounted my PUIG wind-screen (5 minutes are needed). It
    looks better than the original from Triumph and has an interesting shape in my opinion. ;)

    Nice one Markus, there's nothing like the joy of picking up a new machine, especially when you've had to wait a while for it. Enjoy!!:grinning:

    After 300 km I am really satisfied with this bike! The acceleration is great. Due to the bad weather I have to be careful with the throttle grip. Otherwise the rear wheel spins despite the fully activated TC-system. ;) The additional wind screen reduces the wind pressure from the chest as I expected.

    Good for you Markus. Hope we'll all get a brilliant summer this year, I for one will look forward to some stunning pictures of your Rocket with Austria in the background.

    @Bikerman: I will come up with photos, but not only from Austria ;). I will use my Rocket for up to 5 day trips. For longer ones, I will use my BMW, due to the luggage possibilities.:)

    After some bad weather days today the sun arrived back again. :)Therefore I did my first short tour (80 km) in sunny weather with my "Stormi". The temperature will increase in the next days, hopefully.

    That is a LOT of motorcycle!! Nice to have warmer weather to ride. Do you mostly stick to B roads, or do you plan to frequent motorways?

    My Sprint GT with an aftermarket windscreen is ok, but the Trophy SE with the electric windscreen provides much better wind protection for the higher speed roads. Not as sporty, mind you, but a couple of hundred miles on the Trophy is easy. But the Sprint handles so much better, it is more fun on the "B" roads here.

    You must be quite used to having your face in the wind, right?

    @Rob the Scott:
    You are right. I am used to the face in the wind situation. I am using my Rocket on all kind of streets. My office rides (130 km) are nearly complete on the highway. Actually in the mornings it is a bit freezy. :confused:But I also use it for other rides in the beautiful landscape of our area on B roads. In the upcoming months I will also do some international rides on many different road qualities up to 5 days. For longer ones I will take my other bike, the BMW R1250 RS.;)

    What a gorgeous bike, @Markus! I'm sure you must be very excited to finally have Stormi in your care. I look forward to hearing more reports and impressions about the bike as well as stories about rides that you and Stormi take together.
