Featured T595 Covid Build

Hi, new member here, been a member of T595.net for years previously.

My 1998 T595's engine packed up for the second time about 6 years ago so it was in bits in the corner of my garage since (bought a KTM RC8 to keep me going).
So, during lock down I decided to rebuild her. Full engine rebuild, paint job but not the frame and a custom subframe, tail piece and headlight, and yes there are lights ;-) but not good enough for night time driving.

 

Sure. The top part of the subframe is the original with all the brackets taken off it and shortened, it has an aluminum plate welded to the top for strength. The lower subframe again are the original parts, straightened and welded to the top part.




The only electrics in the subframe are the ecu and rear lights and indicators




There are a few 3D printed parts to hold down the ecu and support the tail piece.

All the wiring for the fuses/relays were moved to the front of the bike, under the cover for the thermostat in front of the tank. The thermostat was removed.



I took a lot of the wiring out of the bike, the lights are leds so powered directly from the switches. The indicators blink by themselves so the indicator relay was removed. Only the essential relays were kept and smaller ones used.
I 3D printed a battery box that also holds the relays and fuses, this in mounted directly to the top of the air box and I used a life battery. I could not find any space for the starter relay so I put it in the air box. The ignition key is down near the alternator.
