Well, I tried. But sadly, I'm not a British citizen of UK resident so can't sign. I hope the petition helps!

I'm all in favour of petitioning parliament but I'm not sure about this one.

'Checks on all individual packages from..etc' This is never going to happen. Despite our strict regs on the import of dangerous weapons, they are still available, it's impossible to check all packages.

'Determining if these products satisfy the applicable standards..' Who is going to pay to test all this stuff? Our taxes?

I would hope that motorcyclists know about the safety regs and standards necessary for protective clothing in the UK and EU. I've never met one that didn't. It's mentioned during the training that all new bikers have to attend.
Last week I watched a discussion following a Youtube vid about protective clothing being sold on temu.com. There were actually people saying they would be prepared to buy it (because it's dirt cheap) and 'test it'.
I asked exactly how they would test it and mentioned the many £1000's spent by manufacturers putting their gear through the testing processes.
One person said they were going to buy a helmet and cut it in half to see what was inside .
I guess my point is, some people cannot be protected from themselves.

    I've signed it anyway.

Out of idle curiosity I totted up the cost of my riding kit and then compared it to what I paid for my Striple when new and it came to 40%.
