well, finally got round to checking mi tyre pressures last neet. 26 int front, and 30 int rear. Bloody track day pressures!!! Pumped up to 32f/36r, and feels a lot better this morning ont way into work. The ironic thing is, it's felt strange for months, especially when mi tyres are cold, and i'd think to misen to check em. Then I'd forget, until t'next time I got on it. Perks of gettin owd, methinks.

I expect that front tire wear will be much faster than rear tire wear and the frequent rotation just allows you to share the wear between front and rear tires. I think that since a significant portion of the braking force is on the front tires (regenerative braking is only on the front tires) and all of the "driving" force is applied to the road with the front tires, this "double duty" for the front tires plus the steering forces applied by the front tires, it should be no surprise that they wear significantly faster. This in no way explains any of the reports of uneven wear. I would be curious to hear any explanations for the uneven wear. Thanks in advance,

Looks fairly typical of Michelin Road series wear patterns. I tried a couple of sets of Road 5s on my KTM and didn't like them. they developed a marked ridge at the union of the hard central compound and the softer outer with cupping on the softer side. I prefer the heat treated single compound Continetal Road Attacks. Better wear characteristics and more outright grip.

The level of wear you're getting is down to the load you're carrying which will be exacerbated under braking and cornering. Adding preload, stiffening the damping and increasing tyre pressures slightly may help, as would in future picking a heavier carcase tyre for carrying increased load.

The uneven wear on the righthand side of the front tyre is due to road camber. It's somewhat strange that you're getting it on the right hand side as you've been riding in Europe where they drive on the right. Normally you'd expect increased wear on the side of the tyre that's nearest the centre line of the road, as that's the side that rides the camber. In the UK it's the right hand side if the tyre that gets this wear, and in Europe the left.
