I am going on 52 years of motorcycle riding and owned only a few bikes. I thought for my 70th birthday I would gift myself a new bike, I did a 2023 blue Tiger 900 GT PRO. It included soft bags and an Akrapovic slip on. I added a taller windscreen for my 6'2" height and a new chain guard/fender. The bike is great and I enjoy riding it. BUT... it doesn't replace the cool vibe of the 1996 Honda Nighthawk that it replaced. When riding the Honda people would comment on it more that any other bike I owned, young or old comments came my way. It was in great condition, 44k miles, and I sold it for $1500. I should be a 2 bike household, but no joy. This is my first Triumph. I ride the Triumph to the airports where I restore WWII aircraft. Anyone want to trade slip-ons? Oh, and I knew the real Rob North and he was a great guy and fabricator. His shop a disaster, but would create works of art. He passed about 2 months. I will post some pictures of his work if I can find them.
@CAVUMark Welcome to the family. Yes i to love the Nighthawks. But believe me the Tiger will grow on you. You are very lucky having known the great Rob North i think every biker has heard his name and knew of his talents. Do hit the download a file button and show of your bikes to the patrons.
Hi,I hope you enjoy the Tiger, I just bought one in October, wish I had your climate to be able to actually get out and ride it.love those old hondas, mines getting on for 50years old,,
Well, we all go through some form of seller’s remorse at some point or another. Just rest assured that whoever purchased it likely enjoys it as much as you did when you owned it. Hope there is some solace in that. I’m getting on a bike for the first time after 30 years myself and got myself a modern classic with the Speed Twin 1200 (2024 with the twin clocks). Love it and can’t wait to get on it every day I walk by it. It’s also winter here in BC Canada so the sunny days are welcome as long as there is no frost on the road. Be safe my fellow Triumph owner.
Thanks for the welcoming messages. We have a very close and large circle of comrades that are all pilots and plane enthusiats. Hopefully that will be the same for the Trumpet. My past love was yellow. Daily rider she was.
