    Hello folks,
    I own a new 2023 Bonneville T120, 750 miles (don't get out much).
I got a recall notice from Triumph, notice SRAN627, Install Alternator Wire Alignment Clip.
Seems some wires in the connector system could abrade and short (my interpretation).

Celled my dealer and he indicated that the wiring area is behind the right upper removable plastic panel and behind the brake reservoir and that it would only take about 5 minutes to install the alignment clip. No engine disassembly. He would have to order the clip.

My dealer is 60 miles away; so, I am investigating if I could do it myself.
Has anyone attempted to remedy this situation themselves??
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Rick, I would suspect that if you were to do the job yourself then the recall would be null and void and therefore any warranty would be invalid but you would need to get that confirmed through Triumph or possibly your dealer. To be fair 60 miles isn't very far to get it sorted and it would be free as it is a recall, just a good excuse for a ride out ;)

A dealer would update the completion information on the Triumph Technical Information website.

@RickM46 Think you will find most of the dealers here are shut for the period and up till the new year. Fowlers are a big dealer here and like most dealers have had a bad year. Can you not email them as to the order.

One last thing in the SB; just noticed before mucking around with the electrical connectors, you must disconnect the battery!!

    Well, to beat a dead???:
I took a look at the 3 black alternator wires under the right side panel on my Bonnie; they go into a plug located at the exact bottom of the compartment and go to the right into the alternator; easily visible and easy to access; you can take a peek at the service bulletin link above to see a graphic of the wires and plug.
These 3 black wires look to be at least 14 gauge - kinda big. The clip seeks to separate them better.
I bet just a few short lengths of vinyl tubing on the wires up to within 5mm of the plug could do the same.
    Just sayin.
