Well I have to say they work ok, but I wasn't turning them down and it hasn't been a cold day by any description. Circa 12 degrees C. I had them on the highest setting (there are three) for most of my 50 - 60 mile trip today. I'd say they were good, but not excellent in terms of heat output. There's no question however they integrate well on the bike. The TFT display icon goes from Red - Hottest setting to Orange - Mid setting and Yellow - lowest setting. When you turn the ignition off they switch off and you have to switch them back on again via the small button on the Left handgrip, but that's no drama. I think they might struggle to keep your digits warm in very cold weather, but frankly if its sub 5 degrees ambient, its highly unlikely I'll be out on any of my bikes anyway.

If you can get them, get some hand guards fitted. They will help keep the wind chill off your hands and give the heated grips a chance to work properly.

From your first impressions on performance I would be disappointed, however the deed is done. To improve the situation @Bolosun’s suggestion of fitting some hands guards is an excellent idea and/or @Pegscraper’s suggestion of muffs would allow riding to the polar regions :joy: Im sure I have come across a YouTube video that reviews various heated grips, comparing temperatures reached and time to achieve this performance. I think it might have been a Bennett’s vid, if I can find it I will post a link.

My 'old' Street triple that my son now owns is fitted with hand guards as well as Oxford heated grips. The combination was very good. I've notified the kids that hand guards are on my Christmas list. ;)

Well the kids came good with the handguards. It was my birthday last week, so my son and his wife got me some and I fitted them yesterday. Its been rather cool today out on the bike (well it is December in the UK!) but I have to say now I have the handguards as well as the heated grips, my hands were never cold. My daughter also got me a fenda extender for the stylish, but very short and rather impractical front mudguard,so all in all I'm well pleased with the latest mods.
