Today is the winter solstice, shortest day of the year. Our pagan forebears celebrated this as Yule, and the Roman church misappropriated this, along with their own Saturnalia, to use this time of year to facilitate acceptance of christianity by the northern tribes. So whatever your faith, we are now in the season of rebirth and the return of the light. I wish you all season's greetings :)

We love to tell our family in New Zealand that as we are now heading for Spring, they must be moving towards Autumn!!

Seasons greetings to you too. Spring is on its way. We have a trip to The Alps in the pickup in January, a motorhome trip again to the Alps then through the tunnel to the Italian lakes in May, motorbikes trip in Scotland in July and a Train tour around France in September. what is everyone else planning for next year?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

2025? I'm lined up for a gallbladder operation in January, recovery in February, and hopefully New Zealand in March to see my daughter's new house! That's the plan anyway..... :)
