Love/Hate. Not a movie but a TV series about drug dealers in Ireland, it's not a recent show but I would highly recommend watching it, 28 episodes of great Tv.

Gave up it was so bad. Everything obviously green screen. It was like a shoddy parody of itself.

Not a film but the latest output from the incomparable Sir David Attenborough, Asia.
This was in the mountains and was spectacular. The snow leopards are beautiful.

Saw Blitz yesterday - obviously a tale about London during the blitz. This shows a much more diverse population than you might expect - reviews say it's an accurate portrayal of London during the war years rather than just "inclusivity" at work, but it might come as a bit of a surprise compared to traditional "stiff upper lip" British war films. I enjoyed it, if that is the right description for watching London get blown to bits! And Paul Weller is the grandfather!!

On a lighter note, I saw Red One last week - a "Marvel generation" Christmas tale, but enjoyable hokum none the less!!

    Gladiator 2 next week.......

We just finished binging the second season of The Diplomat. Couldn't help ourselves (you know how it goes...."just one more episode then we'll go to bed"--at midnight). Now we have to wait for the next season and the last episode (last 30 seconds really!) of season 2 was a doozy!

Well, today was Gladiator 2 day....... loved it! I'm no historian, so I accept it may play with historical facts a fair bit, but it was a good romp of a movie and the 148mins passed easily.

I'm a fan of the original Gladiator anyway, I've read the Simon Scarrow adventures of legionnaires Macro and Cato, I passed the remains of a Roman Bathhouse on the way to school every day and now live a mile or so from the route of the Antonine Wall and the remains of various Roman camps, forts and bits of the wall, so maybe I'm just into Roman stuff!

The granite "benches" and lines of cobbles in this photo mark the Antonine Wall across the main shopping street in my local town, Kirkintilloch.

I could watch Jason Statham sitting on a dock by the lake with his shirt off and that would be all the action I'd need! ;)

Last night we started in on "Landman" with Billy Bob Thornton and John Hamm. There have been three episodes released so far and we ate up all three in one fell swoop and wished for more. It grabbed us from the opening scene. Thornton was perfectly cast in his role for sure. I told Steve as we concluded the third episode that if there were more episodes and seasons I'd be binging the whole Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

Saw Conclave today in a busy yet totally silent cinema - proof that a well crafted, well acted drama without superheroes or unbelievably tough heroes can still pull in cinemagoers!

We wanted to watch a "Thanksgiving movie" (whatever that is :joy:) and Steve saw a "Top 10" list on Esquire. So we chose one called Turkey Bowl. Very silly but loads of fun entertainment with a feel-good ending. Something we can all use these days. ;):)

I saw your post and have just finished watching it. I also had the benefit of subtitles on the interweb that helped I think.
It's one of the only films lately that I've watched in one sitting (I get bored easily with the typical stuff that's fed to us these days). The acting was really quite something and the filming just outstanding. Enjoyed it a lot - not sure about the message to be honest - but as a film it was wonderful.
    Thanks for your suggestion :)
