This happened. Beach umbrella accident, sadly needing 6 stitches, two of which were through the nail. I have to say that I don’t think I’ve ever felt pain like the local anaesthetic injections. Good god, they hurt.
That looks nasty! You are obviously not qualified to operate dangerous machinery Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
@learningtofly Boy you are in a sorry state there mate. Hope the rest of your holiday make up for it. Have a great holiday mate.
Back to hospital to have the dressing changed this morning. For some reason they used an adhesive dressing over the wound first time around, so that’s no doubt going to be fun. One things for sure, I’m not having any more anaesthetic injections
Ouch! I did something very similar to one of my big toes on a concrete step. Whilst pissed up as a teenager in Spain. Fortunately for me. Whilst I was trying to be tough & walk it off (whilst leaving a trail of blood behind me) A very attractive young girl who just happened to be a nurse. Insisted that she patched me up. And I got to thank her properly later that day. So it definitely wasn't all bad
Just seen this, sorry. Bloody hell mate, you must like hospitals, ouch. I had stitches there when I caught my finger in a printing press some years ago, I feel your pain. Having them is incredible pain and they haven't exactly done a pretty job, good luck when they take the stitches out.
@learningtofly OMG, Tony! I just saw this thread. What a shite thing to go through on holiday—and after all you’ve been through you deserve and need a holiday! It looks very painful and nasty. I hope it heals up well and you don’t lose any function. Beware those beach umbrellas…they can be very dangerous as you’ve learned.
