Sorry I am quite late to the party but I recently bought a 2019 Speed Triple with 500 km on it. I have many questions but I will attack it all slowly.

I've been buying some carbon bits and pieces, a Oberon fuel cap I now hate (just does not sit straight), and the bike came with lots of addons already.

So I wanted to replace my large Triumph mirrors with likely Rizoma Bar End mirrors. The problem I have is how do I remove the insert that triumph has in the handle bar for their mirrors? I read a few things that sounded somewhat ridiculous like glue a bolt in and remove it by screwing it out? Something like that. I may want to re-use them down the road.

Does anyone know exactly how to get those inserts out and keep them to reuse?

    Thanks for any advice,

The one's I have removed on previous bikes were expanding anchor bolt type inserts. Unscrew and remove the mirror then screw the fastener back into the insert about 6mm then tap the screw with a mallet which should release the insert which can then be pulled out of the bar end.

Unfortunately I tried that and it did not even budge. I think it is threaded in there but hoping someone can confirm.

OK, it seems things have changed and there is now some sort of handlebar plug fixed in position. I would suggest you remove the left hand side handlebar grip to see if it is evident how the plug is retained in position. My bike is also a 2019 Speed Triple but I have never removed the bar end mirrors so don't have a definite answer. Note the handlebar grip is retained by 2 screws concealed under the inner end of the rubber grip.

@KevinC I am wondering why you just don't put your bar end mirrors on using the existing screws in the bar ends or perhaps using a longer / shorter screw to do the job.
