If you can find a set of Trlumph soft bags from the air cooled version bike, they should work. They have a cross strap that goes under the seat, but you will likely need to get a pair of the bent mounting pieces that keep the bags out of the rear wheel. They keep the bags in place and don't hang down too far. I have them on my 23 ST900, which has the up swept exhaust and there is a couple of inches clearance between the bottom of the bag and the muffler.

The early fitment advised that they fit just about any of the Triumph Bonneville line, including the Thruxton.

 

TBH at that money you really have nothing to lose, other than the 15 quid. l bought some Kappa bags from Sportsbikeshop. Not quite Army and Navy but reasonable price.

I actually lucked out. I got a mint used bags with chrome rails for about $220 Canadian. So if your not in a hurry, you never know what you'll find.

One tip with the Triumph rails. I've bought two sets, one was the cheaper version that is out there, black with questionable welds at the shock attachment and the other was a chrome steel set, which were much better quality, better weld. Both sets where for a Bonneville, likely not for a water cooled bike, ST900 which I have. So I had to fabricate a short piece 1" x 1/8" thick flat bar that bolted to the lower end of the rack and then to the rear foot peg mount bolt. It works well, never moves.

So don't be afraid to take a chance on the aftermarket/Triumph brackets even if there are not made for a Thruxton.
