The Abba stand is not usable for a TBird both for fitment and weight, the lifter is indeed a centre stand (or if you like a version of an Abba stand ;)) but part of it is permanently fitted to the bike and is a stable option but at the end of the day how you choose to do it is down to you

The big problem with many road bikes, when trying to lift both wheels, is the exhaust which rules out just putting a jack underneath the engine. For dirt bikes and Scramblers with heavy duty sump guards/bash plates and high level exhausts it's not a problem.
For the GSXR1100 I had in 1990, I already had a rear paddock stand for the back wheel and made a dolly out of 3 pieces of 4x2 which fitted on top of a trolley jack I had in the garage and over the exhaust to support the weight on the frame rails. This lifted the bike and was stable.
If I had a T Bird or any bike where a commercially available, reliable lifter wasn't available I'd probably make something.

I've got the Big Blue Bike Lift, bought it specifically for my Thunderbird Storm, it works great, recently I aquired an HD Electra Glide Ultra so I bought the "Universal" brackets it lifted the HD no problem, held it up while I replaced the tires and replaced the cam chain tensioners also you can raise it up and put a lock on it to prevent it from being lowered by some bike thief wanting your baby. It is a bit pricey though but worth it if you do your own maintenance.

Yep same as above I've also got the big blue lift, costs a few bob but can be used on many bikes and even cam am trikes using adapter plates available. IMG-20240203-WA0002.jpeg
