Hello everyone, new to the Forum. I recently purchased a 2019 Speed Triple RS. It was a great find as it was showroom condition with a few upgrades I would have done anyways. It had 450 km on it. So it still needs to be broken in.

Looking for advice on some mods to be done.

    1) Exhaust - What is your favorite exhaust for the bike. I am looking at SC Project S1 and CRT but I think the CRT could be really loud. I think the S1 is too but not at bad. Don't get me wrong, I like loud. I've read and heard that they don't require any ECU remapping too.

    2) Bar End mirrors - I am really interested in the Motogadget Mo.View Blade but I've read it leaves a big gap between the bar ends. Someone wrote you can get the bar ends for the Street Triple but not sure what year. I also love the Rizoma mirrors but it seems difficult to remove the internals of what the Speed Triple has in the handle bars. Something about gluing a bolt to extract it? Seems unnecessary.

    3) Keyless Gas Cap - I'd love some suggestions here. I hate using my key to get gas.

    4) Carbon Fiber pieces - I have ordered a couple of pieces from Motocomposites. Mixed reviews but we'll see.

    5) Brake Resevoir - I liked the Triumph one on my old Speed Triple and may go with that, but any other ideas are welcome.

Any other suggestions are welcome and thanks for having a forum like this.

My bike already has the following upgrades:

    Triumph Fork Bobbin Sliders
    R&G Engine frame sliders
    Puig Black Windscreen
    MD Integrated Tail Light
    MD Tail Tidy
    Flush Mount Turn Signals
    Second Skin Screen Proctector
    R&G Oil Guard
    R&G Radiator Guard
    Tank Protector
    Ducati Spacer
Removed Pillion Pegs and bunged holes with pro bolt gear
    Original Triumph Cover

    Enjoy your bike Kevin.
Sounds like the bike has most of the bits on it that many here have fitted. I like the look of the SC projects silencer but have not fitted a single accessory to mine. It’s just as it came out of the factory except for the quick shifter. The bike is quick and the handling is superb. You will soon realise that . Hope you get some good weather before winter sets in.

Thanks for the reply. I had a 2007 and absolutely loved it. Went to a 2010 Ducati Streetfighter and never felt right on it. Beautiful bike but not for me. They are beside each other in my garage now and my son says, did you just buy the same bike? It is amazing how comfortable I was again as soon as I rode the triple. It is just a much smoother engine and better riding position to me.

Sounds like a great bike! Someone got bored with it real quick (in 450 kms)!
Question: why would you want to change the high 3-2 arrows-cans to a single low 3-1 can? Is it looks, sound, performance?
I must say i really like the look of the high double exhaust (arrows and sc projects).

    Hey Kevin,

Isn’t it extraordinary how someone buys a bike, throws a heap of expensive accessories at it and then sells it?! Lucky you!

Had mine from new 4 years / 18,000 miles ago and still love it.

Pick whichever exhaust you like. I have a Scorpion low pipe on mine and it runs and sounds great. So long as you don’t remove the cat, I believe you will have no problems with noise or fuelling. I read on here that, after fitting the new can, you should start the engine and touch nothing… leave it ticking over until a few minutes after the fan kicks in. Apparently the ECU adapts to the new exhaust. I still don’t know if I believe this . But that’s what I did. The bike has always run beautifully and the Triumph dealer is happy at service time.

I’m sure you’ve read about quickshifter / gearbox issues!! Mine has been mostly fine, but when using the quickshifter to change up from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 6th I find it helps to momentarily unload the throttle…. Like we used to do. Then the gear change is perfect. Down shifts are never a problem.

For me, the best mod has been suspension set up. I’m 170lb and found the Ohlins too hard for the road at both ends. Ended up paying an Ohlins specialist to fit lighter springs and revalue the damping. Perfect now.

    Enjoy!

I actually don't the double arrows. How hard they make it to take out the baffles is insane too. But I do want the lower for looks and sound. I don't think it will change performance at all.

So the owner bought a BMW M4 and loved driving it so much he ignored the Speedy. I can understand as I bought a Mustang Dark Horse and didn't ride much this past Summer.

I ordered the SC Project S1 and takes about 6 weeks to get it.

I want some better pictures to post and already added a couple of carbon fiber pieces. That back fender was tricky as I didn't have the right tools, but had to let a lot of air out of the tire to get to one of the bolts. LOL

Now the exhaust is off. I'll just leave it off until the new one comes. Maybe I'll run it with no exhaust and make a video. ha ha.

Thanks so much for the tips. The few rides I've had the setup seemed perfect to me. And thanks for the quickshifter notes. It was tricky to even lower the shift pedal but once I saw how it was set up I got it where I like it. And I did notice the shifts from 4-5, 5-6 a bit clunky so I will try that. I've been using a clutch for so long it is automatic most shifts and i'm not racing.

I use the clutch on down shifts as well. Just pull the clutch and hit the gear lever and it auto blips beautifully. Takes the load off of the gearbox and prolongs its life whilst getting the blip to match the engine speeds. No need to actually twist the throttle on downshifts at all. Just make sure that you have the throttle fully closed and it does it for you.

Thanks again. That should be easy enough. Just to get used to not moving the throttle.

My biggest issue now it the TPMS sensor keeps going off after a few KM and shows 0 tire pressure. I guess the sensor battery is dead. Dealer wants over 500.00 Canadian to put new ones in. Ouch. I just want to turn the warning off.
I wonder if anyone figured out how to do that? I think I can figure out the service needed warning with Tune ECU, just have to find an android device.

Can’t advise on TPMS, but you can reset the service light very easily from the bike’s menu. Search YouTube for “Triumph Speed Triple rs service reset”
