I am new to Triumph and ADV bikes in general. Have been riding motorcycles for 36 years. I am gearing up for my first multi day trip on my 23' Tiger 900 rally pro, going to tackle sections of the Chattahoochee BDR-X and combine it with the Smokey Mtn 500 for a big loop. Really getting excited about riding again and not just a way to change the commute to work of get away from town for a few hours. Any tips or pitfalls with the Tiger will be appreciated. So far, I am very pleased with the bike.
@CCurtis Welcome to the family. Great bikes the Tigers Just feel the bike out first and it will do the rest. Do try to take some pictures and tap the upload a file button bottom right and tease us all with the scenery. Enjoy your ride.
Welcome! Sounds like a grand adventure! I hope your trip will include a stop at Two Wheels of Suches; it's on the Smoky 500 route. Whether you grab a cabin, tent camp, or snag a room in the lodge, you can't go wrong. Post pics!
That sounds like a much better plan than mine; I have frequently found myself on dirt and gravel roads in my Sprint GT and Trophy SE!! These heavy bikes and road tires don't do well on gravel surfaces, especially two-up on the sharp uphill hairpin turns I encountered in PA once (I still wake up in a sweat!). I would love to see some photos!!
