1973 Triumph Tiger - High Oil Pressure In In-frame Oil Tank

    Hi Everyone:

    I'm new to this forum, but hoping someone can assist me with my issue of high oil pressure inside the in-frame oil tank on my 1973 Triumph Tiger. I have replaced the oil pressure regulator, cleaned out the oil filter, blown out all the oil lines and the crank case breather, but I still have a significant oil pressure problem in the in-frame oil tank. The bike runs fine, but when I take off the oil filler cap, oil gushes out the oil tank filler hole. I'm at a loss to sort out why any pressure is not simply going out the crankcase breather. Has anyone run into this problem before and if so, what's the fix, please?

    @Markus McMillin They do build up a little pressure especially when hot. Make sure you are not overfilling the oil. Let the bike sit for a time then fill it up. Before doing that make sure that the crank cases has not got a pool of oil due to a weak or seized pump or valve.

    Thanks for your comments. I've had the bike for close to 30 years and never had this problem previously. I've been careful to not overfill the in-frame oil tank. In fact, I've left the oil level lower and it still creates overflow when the bike is run hot. I'm not understanding why the crank case breather is not releasing the pressure build-up in the crank case and in-frame oil tank.
