I shortly need a pair of tyres for my 1200RR. I don't do track days or ride in the rain unless caught out. Whats popular for the RR or RS? And warm up quickly.
My recommendation for tyres is usually the Michelin Road 6. Can't fault them on my 1050RS but don't know what they would be like on the 12. I know a guy running Michelin Powers and he loves them.
Pirelli Diablo Rosso lV for me on my Speed Triple 1050RS. Not bothered about wet weather performance as I don't do touring anymore and only ride on nice summer sunny days. Not had any moments when I occasionally get caught in a deluge. Very happy with the tyres so far.

I have Michelin Road 6 on my Speed Twin 1200, I can't fault them under any conditions. Not only that I have them on my BMW R1250GS and they are still good after 10,000 miles, although they will need to be replaced soon.
I recently changed to Bridgestone S23 tyres, previously I ran Metzler Racetech RRs, the S23s have performed fantastic, when riding spirited the grip levels are sublime, a recent trip to the IOM S100 saw riding in both dry and wet weather, in very heavy rain they impressed, on the unrestricted roads on the Monday in warm conditions the lean angle and grip was again excellent, a rider would be hard pressed to find the limit on these tyres, whilst I have covered only 1,000 miles they show no signs of wear nor tearing. The tyres warm up fairly quick, but even for fast road riding most riders don't go spirited from the off. The Pirelli Rosso IV Corsa tyres are another great tyre, I have ridden a BMW 1000R with these on and they are good, however for me and my STRS the S23s give a plusher ride, not as harsh as the RRs or Rosso IV s, also the RRs have a slightly taller profile that increases the ride height slightly. Tyre choice is really difficult due to rider weight and machine characteristics, what suits one person and machine may not perform the same for another rider.
I put Road 6 on my RR. They look a 'bit funny' with the big tread patterns. Have to say, they have been brilliant! Miles better than they 'look'
I fitted Michelin Road 5’s on my Speed 1050 RS and they are good. Slightly less steering feel, more side wall flex (aiding rider comfort ) and overall I’m pleased with them.
I changed on all my bikes from Metzler or Michelin to Continental Road Attack 4. The Metzler and the Michelin were in principle good to ride in all conditions and temperature levels. But after about 7.500 to 8.000 km the grip disappeared from one curve to the next and my bikes must be ridden like uncooked eggs. On the Contis I am able to reach 10.000 to 13.000 km and the grip is always present without any issues. I rode them in a temperature range from -7 to + 43 degrees celsius and felt good with them.
Michelin Road tires are the best traction/mileage compromise you can find, been using them for years. I just put a pair on my '23 Speed RS. The 6 has a very open tread pattern until you near the edge, the last inch or so is a slick. The edge is also the stickiest part of this multi-compound tire.
I like the Diablo Rosso Corsa IV's, they don't last long but I want high grip. The Diablo Rosso IV's are a good pick, very grippy and get better miles out of them over the Corsa tire.
