Hi all - I'm pretty lost and confused on this issue I'm facing. My 2014 scrambler won't start. This is what I know. The headlight and taillight come on when I turn the ignition key. The dashboard console doesn't come on when "powered" on. I checked each fuse twice and all are good. I've tried jumping the bike without luck. The battery is reading 12.8v. I've jumped the starter relay and got spark and sounds of the bike trying to turn on and lights on the dash but it doesn't start. The starter relay reads 12.7v on a multimeter. The really odd part? If I roll the bike with the kickstand up and the ignition turned to on, the dash lights up but when I hit the starter button nothing happens. What on earth could it be?

I would say the battery is the cause. Do when you get started again send us a picture of the bike. Just hit the upload a file button bottom right.

Had similar with Bonnie, but with everything, console, lights, indicators, all working and bright, just acted like a flat battery so I banged it on charge for a couple of hours ... brrrrmmmmm ?

Just a thought, Michael, make sure the battery terminals and screws are CLEAN and the screws are TIGHT .. I've been caught on that one, nothing actually loose, just not TIGHT! ..... good luck !

@Michael Valdes Yes good info there. Also check the wires around the ignition switch and head stock. Then the contacts on the clutch lever and also the side stand switch. But i still think that battery is low on amperage

Well worth a check, anyway .. also caught on the wiring running around the headstock on the Speed Triple being a little short and being strained when turning front end left to lock ... once in pissing rain outside a country pub .. grrrrr !!! Luckily got jump started by friendly local .. phew !
Yes, short wiring ,(common, apparently ?) clip on side of headstock holds wiring too tight, (threw it away) and the spring wire tidy on the top yolk let's the clutch cable push the wiring about ... now on the outside, let it flop, baby !

Oh for them magneto days, with no problems ! .... yeah, yeah o_Oo_O:D !

Tried monitoring the battery level while jumping the connections on the solenoid. Definitely drops pretty low on the kick start.

I posted a video of the solenoid jump on another thread. But basically the voltage drops to low 9s during that process. So likely battery causing the problem?
