After removing cyl head and rebuilding, sealed liners and new head gasket, valve clearances adjusted, carbs cleaned and checked manifold rubbers, starts but revs to 2,500 plus, can't find what is causing this?

May sound daft but have you checked the throttle and choke cables, they may be snagged.
Are you sure there isn't a crack in the manifold rubbers? Try wd40 on them to see if there is any difference.

Sounds like something isn’t quite sitting/positioned correctly with the carb rebuild

Agreed with earlier posts. Check that the throttle slides are dropping completely down in the carbs.

May be carbs bodies or did you have it remapped.

This is my second 900 Trophy, the first did 139,000 before I pensioned it of with several issues and kept the good bits. Went to the old carbs and cleaned them, and fitted them, tickover down to 900/1000 rpm just have a slight missfire to cure, I thik it is coil breakdown as it gets worse as temperature rises, time to play swap coils until I find the dud one.
Thanks for the responses to original post.
