Couple of questions/help etc 2020 T120- spoked chrome wheels. Background - Damaged to the very outer edge of flange of rim - cosmetic damage - rest of rim is true! (The important bits) 1. Front wheel - welcome suggestions for repair/replacement of "rim"?? I'm seeing $C1000+ for the rim/wheel! 2. Should I even consider cast wheels as a replacement? (Sacrilege I know, but,...) Are cast wheels available for this bike? I'm in BC Canada. Thanks for any ideas! Steve T.
Could you post a photo of the damaged rim, it might be easier to make suggestions then. Would it be possible for a wheel specialist to fit a replacement rim? I'm not sure whether cast wheels are available for the T120.
Canyon wheels in CA offer cast wheels, but they ain't cheap. They also offer wire wheels I believe. Also, a supplier called kkeracing offers tubeless spoke wheels. Woodys wheels may be able to install new hoop on the hub. Google them. Check Craigslist and/or ebay for used. Good luck.
The rim is not too difficult to replace, chrome as well as stainless options exist. You would need a truing stand or have a bike shop do it for you.
